One, two：「Ready, Set, Go!」（または Ready, Steady, Go!）と同様に、レースや競争の開始時、タイミングを合わせる時に使われる掛け声、「せーの」「よーい」
petrol-blue：フランスの伝統色である青系の色、ペトロールブルー（#007d7f）
pétroleとはフランス語で石油のこと。
ボーカルBrett Anderson若い頃の写真を見ると、確かにその通りの瞳の色ですね。
ブリット・ポップ全盛期には倒錯的で危うい愛の歌詞が多かったsuedeですが、この曲はボーカルBrett Andersonが自身の母の死をきっかけに描いた真っ直ぐな愛の内容になっており、ブリット・ポップ期を知らない私が一気に惹き込まれるきっかけとなりました。
2025年9月にはこの9thアルバムの初期パンク精神を引き継ぐ10thアルバムも発売され、円熟みが増すと言うよりは、逆にどんどん瑞々しくなっていくバンドの今後が楽しみです。
