Joan of Arc：百年戦争中のフランスを救った国民的ヒロインであり、カトリック教会の聖人であるジャンヌ・ダルク
Joshua：旧約聖書に登場する、古代イスラエルのモーセの後継者ヨシュア（英名：ジョシュア）。ヨシュアによるジェリコ攻略を歌った有名な黒人霊歌が『ジェリコの戦い Joshua fit the battle of Jericho』
I’m about to：「まさに～するところだ」「今すぐに～する予定だ」
「going to」と違い、直近の未来でしようとしていることを強調するのに使われる
cry out：あっと叫ぶ、大声で叫ぶ
Charlamagne：1994年2月から7月までDefiant Comics社から出版されていた、現在は絶版となっているアメリカのコミックシリーズ。兄ピートがベトナム戦争（1955～1975年）で行方不明になったことをきっかけに家出をすることから物語が始まる。

リードシングル『100 Horses』や『Taxes』とともに、温かいカントリーと思いきや一筋縄ではいかないサウンドがクセになり、歌詞も象徴的で皮肉のこもった難解さです。
Long Island Cityとはニューヨーク市クイーンズ区の最西端、ロングアイランド西端に位置する住宅・商業地区で、かつては工場地帯だったものの、マンハッタンのなかでも近年開発が著しく進むエリアの一つ。そんな変化に怯まずに進みたいという勢いが感じられる、爽快なラストナンバーです。
4thアルバムにして各メディアで最高評価を得たGeese、2026年の初来日に向け、なんと日本語も勉強しているとのインタビューも。楽しみですね。
