そのバンド名と全身タトゥーのルックスに最初は気後れするバンドですが、彼らが題材にするのはずばり「有害な男性性」。1stアルバムの1曲「Sports」は体育会系マッチョなスポーツの名前を列挙して、男性優位社会を皮肉っていく面白い曲です。
そしてこの曲『You N33d Me』のテーマは「承認欲求」。飲み会などでやたら蘊蓄を披露してくる奴、いますね。その癖「君がいないと意味がない」と嘆く微笑ましい1曲になっています。
ちなみにブリッジ部分に登場する「最後に降伏した日本兵」は太平洋戦争終結後、フィリピン・ルバング島で戦い続けた小野田寛郎さんのことを指しているようですが、実際に帰国したのは1974年とのことで、「1998年」とは全然違いますね。適当！
同じスウェーデン出身のバンドで、2025年のフジロックで熱狂のライブを披露したThe Hivesとはユーモアのあるビーフを繰り広げる仲のようです。The Hivesのライブと同様に、彼らにシンパシーを感じる野郎だらけの客層になりそうな待望の初来日、とても楽しみです！
